We’re almost at the end of 2025 now, a year which has welcomed several major car reveals and model launches – and some brands aren’t quite finished just yet.
It has been a year of risk for many car makers. In many ways it has also been a major turning point for the automotive industry, as leading brands have tried to navigate a period of unprecedented change.
Car makers had to not only face the complex challenges of cutting carbon emissions but also deal with the slower than expected rise of electric cars, along with tariffs from the US and, in some cases, cyberattacks.
Slow EV adoption, coupled with the arrival of affordable Chinese cars, has put established global car makers under more pressure of incurring government penalties for not achieving their EV sales objectives.
However, positive developments have emerged for car enthusiasts despite these tumultuous circumstances, and the future of the driver’s car appears secure. New EVs like the Alpine A290 hot hatch are on the rise, and there remains a broad range of highly desirable performance cars.
Classic designs have been reimagined, old nameplates have been reborn and many established brands have branched out into new segments. But which other new models are set to bookend this exciting automotive year? Read on as we share a list of every model that’s on its way in 2025…

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

One of the best-handling SUVs around is about to swap from Alfa’s acclaimed Giorgio platform to a new Stellantis structure called STLA Large, which will enable the model to offer electric power for the first time while retaining a combustion-engine option. Full details remain under wraps, but the new Dodge Charger, which is based on the same platform, uses a 3.0-litre straight six that is encouragingly known as the Hurricane.
