8.4-litre supercharged V10 Spano claimed to pack 900bhp and 737lb ft of torque

Spanish start-up supercar maker GTA has brought its final production version of the GTA Spano to the Goodwood Festival of Speed to take part in the Michelin Supercar Run.

The Spano has been almost a decade in the making. The latest evolution of the production car was first seen at the Geneva motor show in March, and it received its dynamic debut at its first UK appearance at Goodwood.

The mid-engined, rear-drive Spano uses an 8.4-litre supercharged V10 engine with a reported 900bhp and 737lb ft of torque. It is said to be able to sprint from 0-62mph in just 2.9sec and reach a top speed of 217mph.

Weight is kept down to 1349kg thanks to a monocoque constructed from carbonfibre, Kevlar and titanium honeycomb, and carbonfibre bodywork. Stopping power is provided by carbon-ceramic disc brakes.

Production of the GTA Spano is set to be capped at 99 units. It costs around £650,000 before taxes.

That rear half.......

I was thinking this thing looked quite good until I saw that swoopy thing that runs from the door up onto the rear wing.  It looks like something a kit car maker made in their garage.  Who designed it, Marvel comics?

Amendment

Of course, my previous subject header should've read, How the other half (of one per cent) lives. If only.

How the other half lives

A good time to be super-rich: never has there been such choice.
