Fiat is launching a limited run of bright pink Fiat 500s that it expects to sell mainly to young women.
It will build just 500 examples of the car, inspired by the positive reaction to its one-off Barbie show car last year.
The special edition Fiat 500 will get a similar shade of pink paint on the outside, but a more conservative interior. Inside will be black, not pink and silver, but buyers will get a pink key cover and special carpet mats.
The car will cost £11,700 OTR and will only be available to buy online.
That’s £1,000 more than the 1.2 Lounge on which it is based, but it comes with £1,500 worth of extra equipment, including a sunroof, says Fiat.
“It will appeal to free thinking drivers who have a distinctive personality,” said Elena Barnadelli, Fiat’s UK marketing director.
Like all 500s, it will come with a fuel-saving start-stop system as standard.

Re: Special edition Fiat 500 - in pink
Renault did a 5 in pink, Zandra Rhodes was commissioned to oversee things while my dad was brought in to design & provide the seat, roof and door card fabric. Bloody disaster.
Fiat don't need to clutch at straws the 500 is selling by the bucket load and when you actually drive one and see the level of kit as standard it becomes clear why. A great little car and one a driver often seeing as my wife has a 1.2 sport version.
Re: Special edition Fiat 500 - in pink
When I was 5 wanted a Porsche that color, there was a 911S targa parked in Ranmoor, it looked the business. :o)
Did n't Mercedes also use a similar hue (in Italy think it was called violeta) for the first A-class? I drove one, horrible car but the colour reminded me of that Porsche :o)
Re: Special edition Fiat 500 - in pink
"but in the early nineties Porsche offerred a lightweight 911 Carrera RS in pink and ..."
It wasn`t pink, OK?
It was Rubystone Red code 82N
Also, according to Porsche`s official classification there have been several pink colors on their charts, including several recently:
codes: 81D, 341, 024, N4, 601, V1, 83E, 83Y, A7, 7C2, 38S, 8B9, 8C2, Y86, 82K, 81P and 823.
... and they sold them all.
returning to the 500, I really do not understand all the fuss with this crap-cramped car, the driving position is awful, it`s the same as driving a delivery van (anyway you can`t sit properly no one in the rear...).
