Porsche's modified 2011 GT race car features more power and improved aero

Porsche has extensively modified its 911 GT3 RSR GT race car for 2011.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR uses a 4.0-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. Power is up by 5bhp over the outgoing model to 449bhp at 7800rpm, with maximum revs remaining unchanged at 9400 rpm.

Exterior changes include a new front lip spoiler for added downforce, wider front wheels – up from 11-inches to 12-inches – for added grip, and redesigned rear wing and boot lid for improved aerodynamics and cooling.

As with the 911 GT3 Cup and the GT3 R, the RSR has now features LED rear lights taken from the 911 road car.
