Facelifted Nissan Juke gets new engine

The facelifted Nissan Juke has been revealed at the Geneva motor show, and gets new engines and new corporate styling as part of its mid-life regeneration.

Visual changes on the updated car include the adoption of the Nissan family front end, featuring a larger V-shaped front grille and more prominent company badging. That features alongside newly-integrated indicator lights within the wing mirrors, updated 18-inch alloy wheels and a revised front bumper with new headlight clusters.

The rear of the Juke is much the same as before, but features a new lower bumper design and revised rear light clusters. One of the more practical changes to come with the revised car is the addition of a false floor in its boot, which increases the standard load space of 250 litres to 350 litres with the floor removed on two-wheel-drive models.

Inside, the Juke retains its compact proportions, with higher-specification models benefitting from Nissan’s new personalisation package, allowing owners to choose from a pre-set range of colours for the wheels, grille and bumper inserts, seat stitching and parts of the interior trim.

The facelifted Juke keeps its broad range of engines, but gets an additional choice in the form of the 113bhp, 140lb ft 1.2-litre DIG-T powerplant from the new Qashqai.

Elsewhere, the Juke retains its naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre petrol engine in both 93bhp/103lb ft and 115bhp/116lb ft forms, as well as the 1.5-litre dCi with 108bhp and 191lb ft. Topping out the range is the 1.6-litre DIG-T with 187bhp and 117lb ft. Transmission options include five and six-speed manuals, plus a six-speed Xtronic CVT on four-wheel-drive models.

The new Nissan Juke will go on sale in the UK this summer, with an updated version of the Juke Nismo RS expected at the same time.
