Company car drivers have never had it so good, and the figures suggest they know it. There were 920,000 of them in 2024/25, according to the latest Government data, which is 180,000 (24%) more than in 2020/21, and the reason for that popularity surge is clear. Backed by renewed tax breaks in 2020, half of them are driving electric cars.
Coupled with rapidly advancing EV technology and an ever-expanding of choice of models, those incentives have been nothing short of transformative. In a year where manufacturers are pushing to meet a Government-mandated 33% EV share of new cars, members of industry body the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) claim they are tracking at over 80% of company car orders. That’s the industry-wide target for 2030.
Of course, there’s more to this than cheap tax bills. Executive-class company cars are as much a tool of the trade as they are a workplace perk; tasked with being a versatile long-distance tourer, packed with useful features to keep drivers connected, comfortable and safe, and electrification has opened the floodgates for ambitious new brands to challenge the status quo. So how is Genesis standing out from the rest.

Genesis, what’s that?

Just like it’s biblical namesake, Genesis is about new beginnings. It’s the luxury arm of Hyundai Motor Group, and it’s quickly carved out its own corner of the market since it launched in the UK in 2021, distinguished by its uniquely Korean take on high-end motoring and fine-tuned with the help of European engineering teams.
Five years on, the Genesis lineup has grown to include a selection of distinctively styled models, each packed full of cutting-edge technology and premium materials and backed by a uniquely personal ownership experience. Here are five reasons why Genesis should be on your choice list.
Award-winning Electric SUVs

The Genesis company car line-up is spearheaded by a pair of electric luxury SUVs; the GV60 and Electrified GV70. Both were comprehensively overhauled in 2025, which means they’re an even more compelling choice for drivers.
The GV60 coupe-SUV was Genesis’s first electric car in 2023, and it’s since become the brand’s best-seller. It’s built on a dedicated EV platform, which maximises space by pushing the wheels out to all four corners and packaging the battery under the cabin. The result is unobstructed passenger space, with a flat floor, open area between the front seats and a generous 432-litre boot, accessed through a large rear hatchback. Form with function.
It’s a calming environment, with four colour options, premium materials and advanced driver assistance features to make light work of long drives. Spec the Convenience Pack, and the GV60 gains front seats that recline fully while parked and ‘Ergo Motion’ features on the driver’s side, with built-in air pockets that correct posture, provide extra bolstering in Sport Mode and a multitude of different massage options. Useful features for ensuring you arrive at that next meeting feeling refreshed.
