The new super-frugal oil-burner achieves 62.8mpg and 117g/km CO2 emissions

Seat has launched its most fuel efficient Exeo ever – the Seat Exeo Ecomotive - which is priced from £20,040.

The frugal 2.0-litre oil-burner is available with two power flavours – 118bhp and 141bhp – both of which achieve the same 62.8mpg and 117g/km CO2 emissions figures.

Features of the eco Exeo include a stop-start system and low rolling resistance tyres, plus lower-than-standard suspension and Seat’s Energy Recovery system. The new Exeo variant is available in either saloon or ST body styles.

Buyers can choose between five trim levels - S, SE, SE Tech, Sport, and Sport Tech – with standard kit comprising 16-inch alloys, climate and cruise control, voice-activated Bluetooth and a multi-function steering wheel.

SE spec cars add rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights and rear parking sensors, while Sport models also come equipped with sports seats, bi-xenons, LED daytime running lights and taillights, plus tinted glass and gloss black flourishes to the car’s cabin.

Tech-equipped Exeo Ecomotive’s feature sat-nav, black leather seats and an uprated stereo system.

The new Seat Exeo Ecomotive now sits in VED band C – a first for the model – which costs £30 in road tax. The Ecomotive Exeo variant also sits the car in the 17 per cent BIK bracket.

The Price is NOT Right ...

From £20K? ... For effectively a last-generation "cut price" A4 clone? ... The new-generation A4 is from only £3K more (probably less if you haggle) ... Not exactly outstanding 'Value For Money' ...

I always found Seats to be slightly uncomfortable, with not eenough padding on the seats, and overly stiff suspension giving them a "sport" character.

Still, a good idea for a cut price Audi without the pretentious badge.
