Ford has introduced a new version of the Fiesta ST hot hatchback with a higher-specification level.
Priced at £19,250, the new flagship Fiesta ST3 gets DAB and sat-nav as standard, keyless entry, cruise control, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dim rear-view mirror, power-fold door mirrors and automatic climate control. Rear parking sensors are also available as a £250 option.
The ST range starts at £17,250, with the current ST2 priced at £18,250. Ford says that, in total, there is around £1400 of extra equipment fitted to the new car.
Ford says the ST2 accounts for 90 per cent of Fiesta ST sales and there is demand for a higher-spec version. The ST3 has the same 180bhp 1.6 turbo engine and performance as the ST and ST2, and can reach 62mph in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 139mph. CO2 emissions are rated at 138g/km, while economy sits at 47.9mpg.
A choice of five exterior colours will be available, mated to two interior colour schemes.
Ford says it has sold 6250 Fiesta STs since the new model was launched a year ago, around 20 per cent more than originally forecast.
