The driver can select between comfort, sport, and sport+ driving modes, which will influence the dynamic torque distribution of the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system.

Power comes from a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 with 500bhp and 516lb ft of torque.

BMW is also displaying the new BMW 5-Series, updated 3-series coupe and convertible and the facelifted X5 at the New York motor show.

Alpinas are great. Interiors are gorgeous! But I see the new M cars clashing with them with turbo and auto transmissions. BMW should definitely leave M as it was, manual high-revving atmospheric, and market Alpina as another sub-brand, like AMG.
