The 2016 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee has been given new technology and two special edition models as part of a full range update.
Priced from £45,050, the all-wheel-drive SUV has gained stop-start technology and electric power steering to help boost official fuel efficiency to 40.4mpg and trim CO2 output by 14g to 184g/kmThe new power steering can be configured through three modes: Sport, Comfort and Normal.
Jeep has also given its Grand Cherokee a more premium interior, with acoustic glass helping to improve sound insulation and a more premium gearknob replacing the old car’s e-shift lever.There’s also a revised centre console that now houses stop-start Sport buttons.
Extra safety features include an auto-stop function that works with the car’s rear park assist to prevent impacts with obstacles the driver hasn't seen, and a forward collision warning system.
Additionally, the 2016 Grand Cherokee gains three new exterior colours: Velvet Red, Redline and Ivory Tri-Coat.
No changes have been made to the car’s 247bhp 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel V6 engine or eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Pricing starts at £45,050 for Grand Cherokees in CRD Limited+ spec, while the CRD Summit starts at £52,550.
75th Anniversary
A new limited-run model called the Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary has been added to the range, with just 125 examples headed to the UK.
Based on the 2016 car and using the same turbocharged diesel V6 engine, the 75th Anniversary has been launched to celebrate Jeep’s 75th year and gains bespoke features inside and out.
