It’s unlikely that a Vauxhall would beat a Porsche 911 GT3 around our road test circuit, but it has.The Vectra BTCC car may have only 260bhp, but by the time Autocar’s Matt Prior had reached the venue for his date with the fastest VXR yet, it had beaten the GT3’s time by 5.05sec.Our man got behind the wheel to see if he could match that performance, set by VX Racing’s Tom Onslow-Cole, and you can see what happened next by clicking here.
