Chief financial officer Minto takes the helm following departure of Luca de Meo

The Renault Group has appointed Duncan Minto as its interim CEO as the French company searches for a replacement for Luca de Meo.

Briton Minto was promoted to chief financial officer of the Renault Group only in March, but he will assume the top role from today.

De Meo announced his departure from the group in June, electing to become CEO at Kering, owner of luxury brands such as Gucci. The Italian joined Renault in 2019 and his final day was today (Tuesday).

Minto joined Renault in 1997, rising through company in roles including finance director of Renault-Nissan Portugal, managing director of Renault Ireland, and chief financial officer of both Alpine and Dacia.

The search for de Meo's permanent successor is now under way, led by Renault Group chairman Jean-Dominique Senard, who will also assist Minto in the day-to-day running of the company.
