The best new car deals and new car leasing deals for this week, including offers on the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, Smart Fortwo, Land Rover Freelander, Fiat 500 and Vauxhall Astra GTC

If you’re in the market for a new car, or after the best new-car leasing deal, you can save thousands with a little research. This is the pick of what our deals experts have found this week.

Best new car deals

As Mercedes-Benz prepares to introduce a new version of its range-topping C63 AMG to complete the new C-class line-up next year, offers on the older car continue to crop up online. We found one going for £53,326 on Buy a New Car Online. That’s a saving of £5174 from the list price.

When we drove the Smart Fortwo Electric Drive two years ago, we praised its entertaining dynamics and somewhat sporty acceleration. Buy A Car is offering it for £18,248, a saving of £2,147 compared to the list price.

The Land Rover Freelander will soon be no more since it's set to be replaced by the new, larger Discovery Sport family from next year. Dealers will be looking to get rid of old stock, which is why offers like this one from National Vehicle Solutions are appearing regularly. The offer gets you a 2.2-litre GS 2WD model for £495 per month, with an initial payment of £1,486.20 and on a three-year contract. There's also a mileage limit of 10,000.

Since re-launching the Fiat 500 onto the market in 2007, the charms of this small Italian supermini have worked wonders for its makers, evolving into an entire model family. Fortunately, despite its success, the 500 remains relatively cheap. We found a good deal from Yes Lease, offering a 1.2-litre Pop version from £117 per month with an initial payment of £704.88 and on a four-year contract. There's a mileage limit of 10,000 annually as well.

Deal of the week

We gave the Vauxhall Astra GTC four out of a maximum possible five stars on our road test, praising its excellent driving dynamics and quality interior. You can pick up versions from as little as £16,335 nowadays, thanks to offers like the one we found over at New Car Discount for a 2.0-litre CDTi SRi model.

The link provided takes us to a review which says of the interior "lacked flair", "dowdy" and faux brush aluminium, as well as the usual complaints about being confusing with buttons scattered all over the place. There is nothing written to suggest this car has a quality interior. Short memories perhaps?
