Here’s a game that we haven’t played for a while. It’s called ‘What have I bought this time?’.
It is the latest in an occasional series where you have to guess what atrocious used car I’ve just bought.
To inspire and encourage you I’ll give you a prize of some sort. Something easy to ping your way - like a PDF of the Bangernomics Bible - so I don’t have to go to the bother of finding an envelope and going to the post office.
So it’s the first one to identify the make and model of just what lives on my drive now. I had to buy it in a bit of hurry when the family Land Rover Discovery went pop recently.
I won’t bother with a clue at the moment, although the fact that it is replacing a Land Rover might help, or it could be hugely misleading. I will pop in and take a look at where it’s all going and type cryptic words like ‘hot’, ‘cold’ and ‘luke warm’.
By way of information this vehicle was a part exchange at an American Forces car dealer, located right next door to a base. It belonged to a member of the USAF who ran it for a few years and was going home. Therefore it was well looked after, despite a few scrapes and dings where driving on the correct side of the road must have proved a bit of a challenge.
I’m happy with it, although it isn’t officially my vehicle and I'm not the designated driver.
Oh, before I go, the one clue I will give you is the colour. My least favourite hue of all, but then used car buyers can’t be fussy. Yes you will see me coming, or more likely it will fade into the background, because its silver.

Well James, as long as it hasn't been badly abused by Pikeys, you shouldn't have much trouble with that.
I have had a few over the years and found them to be utterly reliable...mind you all of mine were V6 petrols without turbo's
Much better built than the Discovery...only gripe I have is the price of their parts. Mitsubishi seem to think they are a premium brand ( I've got news for them) because items like brake discs, which are really poor quality and usually warp, are almost double the price of ML examples...go figure!
