The next-gen Citroen C4 Picasso has been spied testing ahead of 2013 sales

The next-generation Citroen C4 Picasso has been spied testing ahead of sales which are expected in early 2013.

Seen here wearing heavy camouflage, the revised model stays true to its predecessor’s styling cues, most notably at the car’s front, which features the same large A-pillar-back windows to aid forward visibility.

These spy pics reveal the five-door, five-seat model, which will go on sale ahead of a seven-seat Grand C4 Picasso variant with sliding rear doors. Compared with the outgoing five-door car, the new Picasso’s rear doors feature a flat lower window frame design, unlike the kinked design used on the current model.

Engine variants are expected to mirror those currently found in the C4 model, including 1.6 and 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol units as well as 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre oil-burners.

Citroen remains tight-lipped about the new car’s pricing, but expect the next Citroen C4 Picasso to cost around £17,250.
