Bespoke sports car is 'a vision of what a Ford GT may have looked and performed like today'; powered by a 1024bhp 5.4-litre V8

This is the Galpin GTR1, a bespoke sports car that was unveiled in Pebble Beach today.

The car is described by its makers, Galpin Auto Sports, as being 'a vision of what a Ford GT may have looked and performed like today'.

It is powered by a 1024bhp 5.4-litre V8 with 739lb ft of torque. Galpin says the car has a three second 0-60mph time and a top speed over 225mph.

As such, it is based on a Ford GT and features a hand-built aluminium body plus carbonfibre detailing, LED headlights, and 20-inch wheels. The interior is reminiscent of the Ford GT's, but features extensive use of leather, an uprated stereo and a bespoke dash.

Galpin says between six and 24 GTR1s will be built, with prices starting at $1,000,000 (£640,000).
