These are the latest spy shots of the new Porsche 911 GT3. Seen here during winter testing, the GT3's new wheels are visible along with the prominent fixed rear spoiler, new bumpers and the integral roll cage.
Porsche insiders have claimed that the new GT3, based on the current 991 platform, will offer 450bhp. Power will probably come from an evolved version of Porsche's 3.8-litre flat six. The standard transmission will most likely be a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The manufacturer will also offer the GT3 R race car. It utilises the 991 platform but is wider and features a different aero package and a completely redesigned nose. It's set to compete in the FIA GT3 class.
It's thought that the more potent GT3 RS will later return, based on the 991 platform, but not before 2015.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 is expected to be launched this year, after its official unveiling at the Geneva motor show, before the new 911 Turbo.
