Less than a month after being voted Car of the Year 2004 at the Autocar Awards, Fiat's Panda is marching on with a trio of variants unveiled in Bologna last week. The funky Panda SUV, with chunky styling derived from last year's Simba concept car, and handsome Panda 4x4, will go on sale next year priced from around £7500. Both get raised ground clearance and a choice of 60bhp 1.2 petrol or 70bhp 1.3 diesel power.

The third Panda variation is the Abarth Rally, a concept competition car expected to spawn a road-going hot hatch later next year.

The mid-sized Stilo has also been refreshed for 2004, with a mild facelift and two new engines: a 1.4-litre 16v Fire and 140bhp 1.9-litre turbodiesel.
