Japanese version of the Infiniti M will be launched at Tokyo

Nissan has revealed its new Fuga luxury saloon.

The car is essentially the Japanese version of the Infiniti M saloon, which will go on sale in the US and Europe next year.

A 2.5-litre V6 and a 3.7-litre V6 will be available at launch, while a hybrid version will be offered as well from autumn 2010.

Inside, it gets “premium semi-aniline leather” seats, soft-touch trim, and wood-grain and chrome detailing.

Tech features include double piston shock absorbers, which improve ride and handling by increasing oil flow inside the shock absorber to reduce vibration from road undulations and absorb minor road imperfections.

Re: New Nissan Fuga revealed

Somehow I find this very retro looking . Like an early fifties Healey ( and I don't mean Austin-Healey)

Well curiosity got the better of me so I looked it up, it comes from the Italian fuga, which in turn comes from Latin, also fuga, which is itself related to both fugere (‘to flee’) and fugare, (‘to chase’).

In a related story they plan on building a large family van in Detroit suitable for soccer moms called the "Mother Fuga".
