The new Ford Galaxy will be both longer and wider than the current car

Test mules for the new Ford Galaxy have been spotted out testing ahead of the car’s 2013-2014 launch.

Seen here disguised under a cut-and-shut body that combines a new, more aggressive front end with panels derived from the current model, the new Galaxy, and its sister variant the Ford S-Max, will sit on the new CD391 Ford Mondeo’s platform.

The new Ford platform, which is both longer and wider than that of the existing Galaxy/S-Max, is expected to liberate more leg and elbow room. It will also feature new powertrains, including a more powerful 1.6-litre TDCi turbodiesel and possibly a 1.5 TDCi.

A launch is pencilled in for the 2013 Frankfurt motor show.

The Ford Galaxy is a seven-seat MPV that's surprisingly easy to place on the road, despite its size. It isn't cheap though.

Too late?

Love the ride(used to have a Windstar), Love the name "Galaxy". Hate the two together.  What the??  A Galaxy is not a minivan.  Back to the drawing board guys, quick.

Big!

At this rate, Ford will have to change the name from Galaxy to Universe!

1.5 TDCi

Are they following BMW and making the 1.5 TDCi a 3-cyl version of the 2.0 engine?
