Primary colours feel apt for these cars: three 20-odd-grand, pure-of-heart, petrol manual superminis whose badges are a through-line right back to the '90s heyday of affordable metal. Back when grey wasn't the default choice. I've been looking forward to this one with a fervour usually reserved for a gathering of supercars.
Rewind two decades and my excitement would have seemed sarcastic at best, but it's bred largely by the increasing scarcity of cars like these.
